1. DOT MATRIX PRINTERS:

• Low resolution, You are spending less money per print.
• Printing is done by using Single color ribbon.
• 9 pin Print head - Small size - 80 column
• It can Print in one direction left to right
• Low cost print out
• But DMP takes more time to print the documents

24 pins head - Big size - 132 column

• Prints in both direction - high speed
• Many DMP printers are Plug and play [USB]
• Single color print- Black or Brown

Interface - Connection to PC /Laptop

• Old Printers use LPT1 , New USB connectors
• Also called as Parallel port 25 pins

• Some printers are Network printers - Lan Port [RJ-45]
• Network Printers - directly connected via Lan cable in the network.
