Windows Control Panel - .cpl files


Administrative Tools:

  1. appwiz.cpl: Opens the Programs and Features window, where you can uninstall programs.
  2. desk.cpl: Opens the Display settings.
  3. inetcpl.cpl: Opens the Internet Properties window, allowing you to configure internet settings.
  4. intl.cpl: Opens the Regional Settings properties, allowing you to change language, date/time formats, and keyboard locale.
  5. main.cpl: Opens the Mouse and Keyboard properties.
  6. mmsys.cpl: Opens the Sound settings.
  7. ncpa.cpl: Opens Network Connections, where you can manage network adapters and settings.
  8. powercfg.cpl: Opens Power Options, allowing you to adjust power plans.
  9. sysdm.cpl: Opens System Properties, providing information about your computer and access to system settings.
  10. timedate.cpl: Opens the Date and Time settings.
  11. joy.cpl: Opens Joystick properties.
  12. irprops.cpl: Manages infrared devices.
  13. hdwwiz.cpl: Opens the Add Hardware wizard.
  14. firewall.cpl: Opens Windows Firewall settings.
  15. bthprops.cpl: Opens Bluetooth Devices settings.

Each applet is usually stored as a separate .cpl file or DLL that the Control Panel (control.exe) loads when invoked. Users can run these applets directly via command line using their .cpl filenames or canonical names.
