2.MAN (Metropolitan Area Network) :


  • It is a network with Intermediate size (limited in the city-wide network).
  • It’s often used by ISPs or large universities to provide connectivity in their entire network.

3.WAN (Wide Area Network) :


  • It spans large distances (Ex. Cities or countries). It gives us slower speeds (varies by provider to provider), and it often relies on leased lines or satellite links for the Internet.
  • The cost of creating a WAN network is always higher due to paid leased lines and extra hardware cost. To manage WAN network companies required expert manpower also.

A Campus Area Network (CAN) is a type of computer network that connects multiple Local Area Networks (LANs) within a limited geographic area, such as a university campus, corporate facility, or military base.

5. PAN (Personal Area Network) :


The size of the PAN network is very small, for example Bluetooth devices like a phone and headset, typically it is less than 10 meters.
