1. PCI - Peripheral Component Interconnect

• PCI slots are expansion slots on a computer's motherboard that allow users to add various expansion cards, such as sound cards, network cards, or other interface cards, to enhance the functionality of their system
• PCI was used only in old computers.
• There are 32bit and 64 bit slots.
• We can connect Lan cards,sound card and Graphics card in PCI.

2. PCI-Express (Peripheral Component Interconnect)

• All the latest computers are having various slots to extend the hardware features in the desktop/server.
• Slots with high speed device support are called as PCI-Express PCI -Express x16 PCI-Express x1
• It is used to connect Graphics card, sound card, Lan card
