Network Topologies
Ring Topology :
- Ring topology also known as Token Ring, developed by IBM in the 1970s.
- Devices form a closed loop; data travels in one direction (e.g., Token Ring).
- Fault in one device can disrupt the network.
- It is using Token for communication.
- It is unidirectional.
- Higher cost to implement.
- Faster than that time available 10Mbps Ethernet network.
- It is part of IEEE 802.5 standard.
- Speed was available at 4Mbps and 16Mbps.
